Introduction

The Kota Samarahan Industrial Training Institute (ILPKS) was established by the Department of Manpower under the Ministry of Human Resources in 1999, aimed at meeting the needs of Malaysia’s skilled workforce by providing vocational training at the mid-level with specialisation in high-tech fields and in line with the needs of technological development in the manufacturing sector. With an area of 40.7 acres, it is expected to accommodate 720 trainees annually. The Industrial Training Institute is only located about 10km from Kuching International Airport and 12km from Kuching city centre.The institute started operations in February 2001 and offers eight major course areas.
